SUPERHERO. The
poet, like Indian sages emerging from state of samadhi or absorption, feels gifted with super powers. In line 39,there is
an important image that adds up the progress of ideas and feelings.It also shows how Jesus Christ is the answerer,healer,
prophet and comforter. He raises people from the dead and renews their strength and sense of vision.In line 41, the poet assumes the role of the prophet of a new religion, incorporating all religions. Whitman declared
that all men posses powers of revelation equal to any god’s. The
poet is aware of his new holy and super powers, which resulted from the union of himself with the divine spirit.
